Offer Description

The candidate will be involved in the following activities:
Development of a prototype for electrochemical measurements for continuous monitoring of heavy metals in water samples, capable to integrate sample management (sampling, treatment), subsequent electrochemical measurement, and management of the output data.
In situ prototype validation in various use cases (located in various European and non-European sites) and different types of aqueous matrix.
Data analysis, output management, and preparation of technical-scientific reports, to be shared with other project partners.
Development of electrochemical sensors to quantify in real time the presence of selected organic contaminants in aqueous matrices and to evaluate the effectiveness of the applied treatment.
Providing technical support to the principal investigator of the iMERMAID project unit in the preparation of periodic meetings and official reviews.

Skills/Qualifications

Design, fabrication, and validation of electrochemical sensors; Methods of environmental sample treatment; Knowledge in the field of prototyping and engineering of analytical devices; Techniques and methods of reporting and accounting for projects; Basic digital knowledge; English language adequate to the profile (good).


Specific Requirements

Given the interdisciplinarity of the project and the complexity of the various activities, ranging from mere laboratory activity to the coordination of group activities, a transversal skills in the fields of research and management is appreciated, as well as previous work experience in coordinating and managing project activities
