Offer Description

A call is open for a selection procedure on the basis of candidates’ qualifications, integrated by a possible interview, for the assignment of one “Professionalisation Research Grant” of the duration of one year, with a possible extension, entitled: “Data analysis and modelling of dust dynamics in support of the scientific objectives of the LICIACube/DART mission”. The selection, based on the assessment of qualifications and possible interview, is aimed at the acquisition of one personnel unit qualified in research in the field of data analysis and modeling in space exploration through numerical simulations that study physical phenomena affecting minor bodies or environments in the Solar System. Research will be carried out at INAF-OATs. The following activities will be carried out during the fellowship:  Analysis of LICIACube data;  Study of the dynamical and physical properties of the ejecta dust by performing the analysis of LICIACube images by using numerical simulations;  Description of the dusty environment in the near and far field after impact; 5  Interpretation of the ejecta plume by combining the images obtained from LICIACube and from other observations (for example from HST and from ground observations).  Reconstruction of the plume by taking into account the influence by the non-spherical dust, of the initial velocity and of the rotation energy of the ejecta propagation by use of the LIMARDE code (available to the responsible of the fellowship). The research will be carried out at INAF-OATs under the scientific supervision of Dott. Stavro Lambrov Ivanovski. The fellowship is aimed at this specific research project, and was not announced with the aim of programming longer term recruitment either of the Institute or of the project itself, but of offering the opportunity to carry out research activities in the framework of the project to candidates who deem it useful to their professional growth. We specify that the aim of this selection procedure is to:  offer the opportunity of professional development to young candidates holding research master degrees, to research fellows and to fixed-term contract staff who wish to engage in the national and international research environment, with a view to turnover and mobility, which means recruitment of specific professional skills within fixed-term projects and/or activities;  to appoint in this way positions which are external to recruitment programming of permanent staff positions and therefore do not represent any binding prerequisite for access to permanent staff positions of the Institute. Further questions on the scientific project can be addressed to dr. Stavro lambrov Ivanovski (e-mail: stavro.ivanovski[at] inaf.it). Article 2 A
