The Role
Maynooth University is establishing a new University Events Team within an expanding Office of External Relations at a time of exciting growth and change at the University. MU is seeking a dynamic, experienced events professional to fill the role of University Events Manager to lead the development of this important team, in support the University’s next Strategic Plan 2023-2028.
The University Events Manager will initially conduct an inventory of University Events, current resources and service provision, and then develop a strategy and business case to build out the team, which will deliver a wide range of in-person and online University events, working in partnership with both internal and external stakeholders. The post-holder will initially prioritise the direct management of strategically important events, while developing an overall plan that reflects and responds to the wide variety and types of event support needed across the University, ranging from awards celebrations and visits by dignitaries to book launches and public lectures.
The team will be responsible for the planning, delivery, and support of a range of high quality, professional events, delivering a professional strategic service, managing resources, promoting the University, and delivering excellence. The team also will support and advise MU colleagues from various departments and offices across the University on how to successfully organise and run their university events, developing processes, and an Events planning toolkit. The team will play a significant role in hosting a range of external stakeholders.
This position will report into the Vice-President External Affairs at the present time, and work closely with colleagues across all departments.
Administrative Officer I (2022) Salary Scale: €53,232 – €75,951 p.a. (9points)
Appointments will be made in accordance with public sector pay provisions
