Applications are invited for a temporary post of a UCD Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 1 within UCD School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering.

The ERA-NET EV-Chip project will assess the impact of electric vehicles charging points at the distribution level and the validation of a real-time predictive algorithm for the bi-directional charging and power management of charging stations.

This is a research focused role, where you will conduct a specified programme of research supported by research training and development under the supervision and direction of a Principal Investigator.

The primary purpose of the role is to further develop your research skills and competences, including the processes of publication in peer-reviewed academic publications, the development of funding proposals, the mentorship of graduate students along with the opportunity to develop your skills in research led teaching.

To support UCD's role in the EV-Chip project, we are seeking a researcher with expertise in the development of and application of energy systems modelling tools, particularly distribution networks. It would also be desirable to have experience of optimisation and numerical techniques. Other responsibilities will include working in a multidisciplinary team and with our project partners to deliver on the overarching scientific goals of the EV-CHIP projects.

Salary: €39,131 - €45,158 per annum

Appointment on the above range will be dependent upon qualifications and experience.
