Applications are invited for a temporary (until 31 Jan 2023) post of an UCD Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 1 within the UCD School of Biomolecular & Biomedical Science

Applications are invited for a post-doctoral research position in Immunology & Cell Biology in the School of Biomolecular and Biomedical Science, Conway Institute, University College Dublin (UCD), Dublin, Ireland.

The successful candidate will work as part of an interdisciplinary team investigating novel approaches for the prevention of inflammation in cell-based models of COVID-19. The overall project objective is a comprehensive evaluation of the anti-inflammatory action and mechanism of novel biotherapeutics in pulmonary cell models relevant to severe COVID-19.

The project is funded by Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) as part of the COVID-19 rapid response programme and is in collaboration with Dr Virginie Gautier, UCD Centre for Experimental Pathogen Host Research (CEPHR).

This is a research focused role, where you will conduct a specified programme of research supported by research training and development under the supervision and direction of a Principal Investigator.

The primary purpose of the role is to further develop your research skills and competences, including the processes of publication in peer-reviewed academic publications, the development of funding proposals, the mentorship of graduate students along with the opportunity to develop your skills in research led teaching.

Salary range: € 39,131 - € 42,700 per annum

Appointment on the above range will be dependent upon qualifications and experience.
