Applications are invited for the following post:
Software Engineer (aligned Research Fellow payscale for pay purposes only) Sports Propellor project (Fixed-term wholetime contract for 9 Months) (Reference: 333a/2023)
Location: The successful candidate will initially be based in TU Dublin, Tallaght but may be reassigned at the discretion of TU Dublin.
Hours of Work: A 37 hour working week is in operation.
Salary:
The successful candidate will be appointed at point (01) of the Research Fellow Salary Scale i.e. €61,318 gross per annum.
Closing Date: The closing date for applications is 5pm (Irish Time) on Friday 22nd March 2024. Late applications will not be accepted.
It is anticipated that interviews for this post will take place in early 2024 The interview assessment will be 30 minutes in length .

Knowledge and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) – (Essential)
- Experience beneficial as an API Developer or similar role – (Essential)
- Experience with API design and development using RESTful or GraphQL principles – (Essential)
- Familiarity with API security and authentication mechanisms. – (Essential)
- Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced startup environment.

Principal Accountabilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable APIs to support our SaaS platform.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and ensure the API meets business needs.
- Identify opportunities to optimize existing APIs for performance and efficiency.
- Work closely with front-end and back-end developers to integrate API endpoints into our application.
- Implement security best practices to protect user data and ensure API security.
- Monitor and troubleshoot API issues and provide timely resolutions.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in API development.
