The School of Computer Science and Information Technology is one of UCC’s most research and innovation active units. Researchers in the school participate in a wide range of national and European research and innovation activities, which are often carried out in collaboration with industry and/or public authorities. At a local level, the school is involved in the Cork Smart Gateway initiative. The Cork Smart Gateway (CSG) is a Smart Region initiative led and supported by University College Cork (UCC), Munster Technological University, Cork City Council, Cork County Council, Tyndall National Institute and local industry associations Cork Chamber, EnergyCork and the Tech Industry Alliance (TIA).

As part of the school’s involvement in the Cork Smart Gateway and collaboration with Cork City and Cork County Councils, UCC is now seeking to recruit a Cork Smart Gateway / Business Development Coordinator. The position is funded by the two Cork Local Authorities, Science Foundation Ireland CONNECT Centre for Future Networks and the School of Computer Science and Information Technology. The role has a strong outreach and business development focus through its engagement with stakeholders across industry, local authorities and academia. In addition to supporting the CSG, the applicant will also perform a business development function for Principal Investigators in the School of Computer Science and Information Technology at UCC. The successful applicant will report to the CSG steering group / the School of Computer Science and Information Technology through Prof. Dirk Pesch of the School of Computer Science and Information Technology.

Post Duration:  Anticipated duration 24 months

Salary: €60,000 p.a. (Personal Rate)
