Are you looking for your next career move in Research? Want to be a part of a team with great societal impact? Trilateral Research are looking to hire a Senior Research Analyst to join our Ethics, Human Rights & Emerging Technologies cluster.

 

As a part of our Research & Innovation team, you will work on the Horizon Europe VERITY project (deVEloping scientific Research with ethIcs and inTegritY), aimed at fostering public trust in science, develop & apply thought leadership towards the project’s objectives, and contribute to other research projects and activities. You will lead and contribute to research, business development activities and support knowledge sharing and training activities within the Ethics, Human Rights and Emerging Technologies Cluster. The successful candidate will have a meaningful opportunity to create tangible research-driven impact through their work.

Location: This position is open to candidates based in the Republic of Ireland

Contract type: Two-year fixed term employment contract

Start date: Jan/Feb 2024

Salary: Commensurate with experience

What are your responsibilities?

Project delivery

  • Independently support the effective and timely coordination, management and delivery of outputs for the VERITY project, in direct communication with partners, team members, funders and external stakeholders
  • Effectively manage the project, including identifying and resolving project-related issues and delivery risks in liaison with project team and clients
  • Produce high-quality research outputs and deliverables in line with project deadlines
  • Provide accurate and timely reports as project coordinator to the European Commission at designated milestones
  • Represent Trilateral at project meetings and external events
  • Collaborate with Research Finance for effective management of project resources, and timely and accurate reporting of budget

 

Research impact and strategic influence

  • Deliver impact requirements and represent research projects externally in line with Trilateral and project goals
  • Maintain and grow thought leadership, through publication, funding and interdisciplinary outputs, subject matter expertise and research-driven innovation
  • Take initiative to enhance the profile of assigned projects and the company e.g., via peer-reviewed publications, popular press articles and presentations.
  • Support cluster growth and cross-cluster initiatives that contribute to developing Human Rights Impact Assessment and Ethics-by-Design frameworks in relation to emerging technologies
  • Collaborate with colleagues to align research and project exploitation with Trilateral’s strategic innovation needs

 

Business development

  • Independently lead and/or contribute to successful and high-quality funding applications and/or tenders
  • Grow and share knowledge of funding schemes and application processes e.g., Horizon Europe and commercial tenders
  • Lead training and knowledge sharing activities
  • Develop a network of contacts to promote and attract business to Trilateral

 

Team development

  • Mentor project team and colleagues on project/subject matter expertise

  • Strong and established verbal and written communication and presentation skills to effectively communicate both within Trilateral and externally across multi-national, multi-disciplinary and multi-sector research consortia, as well as external stakeholders and clients

  • Expertise in human rights, ethics of technology and/or STS
  • Experience or knowledge of socio-technical innovation, systems thinking approaches, ethics-by-design and/or human rights impact assessment frameworks

 

Required education and experience

Essential:

  • PhD or post-doctoral experience in a relevant subject
  • Experience leading activities and producing outputs in a multi-stakeholder research project
  • Proven track record building relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Desirable:

  • Experience of engaging with policymakers, and developing policy recommendations (reports, briefs, executive summaries etc.)
  • Experience leading work at the Work Package level in one or more EU-funded research projects
  • Experience writing peer-reviewed publications and academic conference presentations
  • Experience drafting and editing research funding proposals, especially for Horizon Europe
