The appointment of a 0.5FTE post at Senior Lecturer level in Sports and Exercise Medicine provides an excellent opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced Clinician – Scientist to lead the Programme in Sports and Exercise Medicine into the future. The integration of research within the programme offers opportunities to develop suitable research themes through Masters-level research, some of which can be further developed into opportunities for MD / PhD study, peer-reviewed external grant awards and contracted research. UCC, with its diverse research community provides a fertile ground for collaborative research with clear opportunities for engagement and team- building with strong research-focussed Schools of Medicine, Therapies, Public Health, within the College of Medicine and Health and with the internationally acclaimed APC-Microbiome Ireland, INFANT, as well as with colleagues working in the areas of Food and Nutritional Sciences, Physical Education and Sport Pedagogy.  The inclusion of this appointment under the UCC Futures cluster hire initiative provides an exciting opportunity to be part of a major hiring initiative of the university, bringing enthusiastic experts from related but varying perspectives together to maximise opportunities to grow research and develop novel innovations within the broad area of Food, Microbiome and Health.

Appointment may be made on the Senior Lecturer Salary Scale: (PRO RATA) €75,426 – €106,871 (Scale B) / €72,840 - €101,527 (Scale A)

Salary placement on appointment will be in accordance with public sector pay policy.
