The School of Languages, Literatures and Cultural Studies (SLLCS) invites applications from candidates with demonstrated excellence in leadership of professional services for the position of School Manager. The School Manager is responsible for the provision and management of a high-quality, agile, and responsive professional and administrative service to support a diverse portfolio of School activities.

The School Manager is directly responsible for ensuring all School administrative processes, policies and systems are effectively aligned to the School’s strategic objectives, and manages associated change and transformation, supporting and working closely with the Head of School, Heads of Discipline and School Directors, in the development and implementation of the strategic objectives of the School.

The role of the School Manager is also fundamental in supporting the School in achieving its financial targets. The School Manager facilitates: effective budgetary planning; staff recruitment and management; academic administration supporting curriculum development and enhancing research funding opportunities; and implements, and adheres to, School and College policies and strategies.

The School Manager is a key member of the School Executive and an experienced point of reference for both the professional services and academic staff in the School, providing effective leadership for professional support staff team supporting various multidisciplinary programmes in the School. Thus, successful candidates must have leadership experience, strong people management and relationship skills, as well as excellent financial acumen and self-drive.   

Post status: Permanent  

Hours of Post: 35 hours per week

Salary: This appointment will be made on the Administrative 1 (Points 1-3), Salary Scale (€64,401 - €83,310 per annum) at a point in line with current Government pay policy. monthly/weekly payscales. (tcd.ie)
