Position summary
PPI Ignite Network@UCC is seeking to recruit an Acting Programme Manager to cover a short-term (6-months maternity leave) contract for PPI Ignite Network @UCC. The Acting Programme Manager will play a central role in developing PPI-related activities in UCC. S/he will lead and support PPI innovation across the University, as well as work closely with the Programme Managers at the six other member Universities across Ireland, with the PPI Ignite National Programme Office and with national and local partners. The successful candidate will report directly to the Principal Investigator (PI), Dr. Carol Kelleher , UCC.
Public and Patient Involvement (PPI) can be defined as doing research ‘with’ or ‘by’ members of the public, patients, and carers rather than ‘to’, ‘about’ or ‘for’ them (INVOLVE definition). Co-funded by the Health Research Board (HRB), the Irish Research Council (IRC) and seven higher education institutions , the aim of the national PPI Network (www.ppinetwork.ie) is to advance the involvement of the public, patients, and carers in research co-design, from generation of ideas to delivery of results to dissemination. As part of the national PPI network, the PPI Ignite Network@UCC (https://www.ucc.ie/en/ppi-ignite/) aims to build capacity for high-quality PPI both within and UCC and amongst wider society and to embed PPI within and across UCC institutional policies and practices.

Salary: €46,000 p.a. (Personal Rate)
