Trilateral Research have a fantastic opportunity for a Research Manager to join our Cybersecurity cluster!

 

The successful candidate will support the growth, development and operational management of the Cybersecurity Research cluster, manage team members and support the delivery of the ATHENA project which focuses on tackling disinformation in Europe. This is a combined research and management role.

What are your responsibilities?

Project Delivery:

  • Contribute to the effective and timely delivery of the ATHENA project, which involves researching issues of disinformation and how to address them.
  • Work to resolve and escalate project management issues and risks.

 

Business Development:

  • Contribute to the research team’s revenue goals and support the growth of the Cybersecurity Research team.
  • Lead and/or contribute to funding applications and oversee applications by junior members of the team, providing training where needed.
  • Support external and internal networking including cross-collaboration proposal efforts.

 

Team Management:

  • Be responsible for direct line management activities, ensuring team awareness of strategic/operational goals and alignment with policies and procedures of the company.
  • Support team members to manage effectively and grow their business areas and meet staff development needs.
  • Ensure that staff performance management is of a high standard and is based on company policies and procedures.
  • Support in the management of recruitment activities and implementing operational processes or resolving operational issues as they arise.

 

Research Impact:

  • Grow the cybersecurity cluster’s research-driven impact, demonstrating innovation in practice, through publication, funding, and research outputs.
  • Support the cluster lead in identifying new opportunities and maximizing existing ones to enhance the profile of the company in collaboration with research impact officers, exploitation working group and cluster leads. E.g., via peer-reviewed publications, popular press articles, presentations.

 

Strategy Delivery:

  • Maintain and grow, though publication, funding and interdisciplinary outputs, cluster expertise and research-driven innovation for Trilateral.
  • Support the cluster lead in identifying high-traction research findings and engage with the disciplinary community, via blogs or other publications, to build the cluster’s visibility and reputation

 

What else do I need to know?

Location: This position is open to candidates based in the Republic of Ireland. 

Contract type: Permanent Employment Contract.

Start date: Feb/March 2024.

Salary: Commensurate with Experience.

Hours: Full Time.

  • Cybersecurity technical knowledge and expertise.
  • Qualitative research methods, including conducting interviews.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Project management experience.
  • Good analytical skills and data driven thinking.
  • Ability to work in an interdisciplinary setting.

Desirable:

  • Experience in cybersecurity technical writing and providing technical training to non-expert audiences.

 

Required education and experience:

Essential:

  • PhD in related discipline such as Information technologies, cybersecurity, social/political/security studies, software engineering or equivalent research experience.
  • Team/Line Management experience.
  • Experience in coordination/management of multiple projects.

Desirable:

  • Experience managing remote international teams.
