Offer Description

Applications are invited for a temporary part-time post of a Research Engineer within UCD School of Mechanical and Materials Engineering.

The Research Engineer will support the RESR (Renewable Energy Storage Reactor) project, an SFI-funded initiative focused on developing innovative hydrogen storage solutions based on ammonia borane for renewable energy applications. Reporting to the Principal Investigator, the post holder will contribute to research activities involving life cycle assessment (LCA), techno-economic analysis, process modelling, and the evaluation of integrated hydrogen energy systems.

The role will involve analysing the environmental and economic performance of ammonia borane-based storage technologies, developing and assessing novel energy system integration scenarios, and contributing to project reports and peer-reviewed publications. The successful candidate will work within a multidisciplinary team of engineering and chemistry researchers and engage in the dissemination of research findings. A key outcome of the role will be the delivery of high-quality sustainability assessments and research outputs that support the advancement of scalable and environmentally sustainable hydrogen storage technologies.

Fixed Salary: €63,000 Per Annum (€24,229.8 Pro Rata)
