Applications are invited for a temporary post of a Research Assistant within UCD School of Medicine.
Applications are invited for the position of Research Assistant to join a multi-disciplinary group investigating chronic lung diseases, one of the leading causes of death and disability worldwide. These diseases represent a major unmet health need both in Ireland and internationally.
The successful applicant will be part of a research group comprising clinicians, research scientists, technical staff and postgraduate research students investigating chronic lungs diseases. The position is based in the Conway Research Institute and in St Vincent's University Hospital and involves working on both these sites in the collection of clinical samples, biobanking and the analysis of samples using cell culture, biochemical, molecular biology and advanced imaging approaches. The successful applicant will provide support to a number of different projects.
The successful candidate will be self-motivated, technically competent and capable of working independently and have excellent organisational and interpersonal skills including the ability to work closely with others as part of a team, while taking personal responsibility for assigned tasks.
Training can be provided and the position offers the opportunity to obtain new techniques and skills that provide an excellent base for career progression in the Biomedical Sciences field in the future.
Research Assistant Salary Scale: €30,025 - €39,908 per annum
Appointment on the above range will be dependent upon qualifications and experience.
