Applications are invited for a temporary post of a Research Assistant within UCD School of Agriculture and Food Science.

The successful candidate will work to ensure the smooth implementation of the LIFE Climate Action Project LIFE farm4more.

LIFE farm4more is a LIFE climate action project which aims to achieve climate change mitigation in animal protein production by implementing a suite of technologies, methodologies and strategies, most prominently a Grass silage fed Green Biorefinery prototype but also a biochar prototype, a novel seaweed ensiling process and extensive animal feeding trials. Key to the LIFE farm4more project is a biosensor-based monitoring and control system that is being developed to monitor and control the project's grass silage fed Green Biorefinery.

This Research Assistant role will focus on completing a socio-economic assessment of LIFE farm4more's Green Biorefinery technologies, methodologies and strategies under Action D.1 which will also require that they contribute to mass balance analysis and Life Cycle Assessments under Action D.2. The Research Assistant will be primarily based at UCD but will be required to travel to partner organisation sites in Ireland but also Austria.

This is a research focused role, building on your prior experience in industry or undergraduate discipline, where you will conduct a specified programme of research supported by research training under the supervision and direction of a Principal Investigator.

Salary: €30,025 - € 39,908 per annum

Appointment on the above range will be dependent on qualifications and experience
