As part of this role the researcher will be required to participate in the DCU Research Career Framework. This framework is designed to provide significant professional development opportunities to Researchers and offer the best opportunities in terms of a wider career path.

The Research Assistant will help coordinate a comprehensive research program focusing on outcomes of patients who present to the Sports Surgery Clinic (SSC) under the care of Professor Brian Devitt, Full Professor and Chair of Orthopaedics and Surgical Biomechanics. The appointee will work within laboratories located at the Sports Surgery Clinic and in the School of Health & Human Performance at Dublin City University (DCU), Glasnevin Campus. The appointee will report to the Professor Brian Devitt and other senior project leaders as necessary.

Minimum Criteria

Applicants should have an undergraduate degree in basic science. In addition, it is desirable that the candidate has:

  • experience in data analytics and patient interactions
  • The ability to excellently communicate through verbal and written means.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary, multi-centre team. Willing to allocate work and help others.
  • The ability to take initiative and work under pressure to tight deadlines

Essential Training

The postholder will be required to undertake the following essential compliance training: Orientation, Health & Safety and Data Protection (GDPR). Other training may need to be undertaken when required.

Salary Scale:

IUA Research Assistant Salary Scale - €27,380.00 – 36,786.00

Appointment will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and in line with current Government pay policy
