Position Summary

Applications are invited for a Post-Doctoral Research / Senior Post-Doctoral position at the Insight Centre for Data Analytics in the School of Computer Science and Information Technology, to work on two specific research projects: Glaciation, a Horizon Europe project applying AI to cloud-edge management, and Insight Platform. In addition, the researcher may contribute to various other collaborative research projects as they arise with Industry Partners and/or EU Consortium Partners. The nature and structure of the phase 2 SFI Research Centre programme allows for Post-Doctoral researchers to work and gain valuable experience in a varied & research rich environment where you may gain experience working with SME’s, MNC’s, H2020 projects as well as basic platform research within the Insight Centre for Data Analytics programme.

The role in Glaciation is to develop explainable AI-based methods for time series prediction, applied to the management of data and computation in distributed cloud edge systems. The role in Insight is to develop explainable human-centric AI technologies, under the direction of the PI, Prof. Ken Brown. The positions will involve close collaboration with the Glaciation consortium partners, with other Insight members across our partner Research Participating Organisations and with Insight Industry partners.

The Insight SFI Research Centre for Data Analytics (http://www.Insight-centre.org) is an SFI funded Research Centre that brings together researchers from University College Dublin, NUI Galway, University College Cork, and Dublin City University, as well as other partner institutions, Trinity College Dublin (TCD), University of Limerick (UL), Maynooth University (MU) and Tyndall National Institute

Project Title: GLACIATION & Insight Project

Post Duration: 22.5 months

Salary:  Post-Doctoral Researcher: €42,781 - €49,177 p.a. (IUA PD1 Salary Scale), Senior Post-Doctoral Researcher: €50,540 - €54,966 p.a. (IUA PD2 Salary Scale)
