The Role

IVI is a multidisciplinary research institute focused on digital transformation and technology adoption based in Maynooth University. Founded in 2006 in collaboration with Intel, we have a strong track record of industry collaboration, both locally and internationally.

We have demonstrated excellent dissemination capability including education and training, and have developed a close working relationship with Enterprise Ireland, IDA Ireland, Science Foundation Ireland, and other research centers.

We are seeking a Post-Doctoral Researcher or Senior Post-Doctoral Researcher who will support the

Horizon Europe Project: FLOW (https://www.theflowproject.eu/), along with providing significant input to support research of new funding.  In FLOW, IVI Institute is WP leader for the data, communication, and digital infrastructure. The project consortium is a partnership of industry, academia and large enterprise. It aims to enhances user centric V2X smart charging solutions and their orchestrated integration into energy grids that deliver flexibility assets to favour additional penetration of renewables and alleviate energy grid challenges.   We are looking for an exceptional candidate who will lead the projects’ technical development, including the development of new technologies and data infrastructures for V2X smart charging solutions. The individual will contribute to the development of detailed energy system models with a particular emphasis on the potential to integrate different energy systems, e.g. gas, water and electricity. Other responsibilities will include working in a multidisciplinary team and with our project partners to deliver on the overarching scientific goals of the FLOW project.

Post-Doctoral Researcher (2022) Salary Scale:                  €41,209 – €47,477 p.a. (6 points)

Senior Post-Doctoral Researcher (2022) Salary Scale:  €48,813 p.a. (1 point with annual increment)

Appointments will be made in accordance with public sector pay provisions.
