Applications are invited for the following Post in the Technological University Dublin:
Post: Post-Doctoral Researcher in Human Robot Interaction - School of Computer Science (Fixed term specified purpose basis for up to 5 years with funding in place for 12) (Reference: 112/2024)
Location: Currently located in TU Dublin, Grangegorman, Dublin 7.
Hours of Work: A 37 hour working week is in operation.
Salary: The successful candidate will be appointed at point (01) of the Post-Doctoral researcher Salary Scale i.e. €45,322 gross per annum. Remuneration may be adjusted from time to time in line with Government pay policy. Incremental credit may apply in line with University policy.
Closing Date: 26th April 2024 at 5.00 p.m. (Irish time). Late applications will not be accepted.
It is anticipated that interviews for this post will take place in week beginning 20th May 2024. The interview assessment will be 40 minutes in length and will include a presentation of 8 minutes duration.
The topic of this presentation will be as follows:
“My experience in User State Modelling for Human Robot Interaction”

Knowledge and Experience
- A PhD or equivalent in Human-Robot Interaction (HRI) (Essential)
- Evidence of a research profile and publication record within the area of confusion modelling and detection (Essential)
- Knowledge of research techniques and methodologies relevant to Wizard of Oz studies and user engagement assessment (Essential)
- Experience working with physical robot platforms (Desirable)
- Knowledge of robotic platforms such as ROS (Desirable)
Skills, talents & abilities
- Commitment to high quality research as demonstrated by quality dissemination (Essential)
- Passion for public engagement activities (Desirable)
- Willingness to engage with the wider research community to network and build connections.
