Updated: 3 months ago
Location: Dublin Harbour, LEINSTER
Job Type: FullTime
Deadline: 06 Feb 2024

Applications are invited for a temporary post of a UCD Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 1/2 within UCD Sutherland School of Law.

This position is within an ERC Consolidator Grant led by Professor Aisling Swaine (Principal Investigator). The `GENCOERCTRL project' is a 5-year transnational qualitative study focused on expanding empirical and theoretical understanding of women's experiences of armed group violence, and specifically coercive control, and related responses by peacebuilding and transitional justice processes. To do so, it develops a critical feminist phenomenological methodology as the basis for the research design and methods.

This PostDoc will be one of a team of researchers, including a second postdoctoral researcher, two doctoral students and project manager, all working under the guidance and supervision of the Principal Investigator.

The role involves contributing to the development of theory, the methodological approach and tools for the study, and undertaking empirical `field' research and data analysis using that methodology. Across the three years significant secondary data analysis will also be part of the role. The role is based at UCD in Ireland, with travel for empirical research in one selected research site to be determined (e.g. Colombia, Sri Lanka or another as determined through the research design).

Post Doc Level 1 Salary Scale: €42,783 - €49,177 per annum.

OR

Post Doc Level 2 Salary Scale : €50,540 per annum

Appointment on the above range will be dependent upon qualifications and experience.

Closing date: 17:00hrs (local Irish time) on 6th February 2024.

Applications must be submitted by the closing date and time specified. Any applications which are still in progress at the closing time of 17:00hrs (Local Irish Time) on the specified closing date will be cancelled automatically by the system. UCD are unable to accept late applications.
