Applications are invited for a temporary post of a UCD Post-Doc Level 1 in Skeletal Bioengineering within UCD School of Mechanical and Materials Engineering.

The School of Mechanical and Materials Engineering at University College Dublin is looking to recruit 1 Post-doctoral Research Fellows Level 1 for 3-years each in Skeletal (e.g. tendon, bone, cartilage) Bioengineering.

The Lab:

The Regenerative, Modular and Developmental Engineering Laboratory (REMODEL) operates at the crossroads of engineering, chemistry, biology, medicine, entrepreneurship, humanities and social sciences, where education, research, innovation, social responsibility and clinical practice merge to improve human lives. REMODEL is a multidisciplinary and intersectoral hub that develops, derisks and commercialises transformative and disruptive end-user informed:

  • Biomaterial- and cell- based therapeutic, reparative and regenerative products for healthcare.
  • In vitro pathophysiology models for drug discovery.
  • Cellular agriculture and aquaculture meat products for food security.
  • Tools and technologies that enable effective and efficient ex vivo cell propagation for the cell culture sector.
  • Post Doc Level 1 Salary Range: €42,783- €49,177 per annum

    Appointment on the above range will be dependent upon qualifications and experience.

    The PD1 position is intended for early stage researchers, either just after completion of a PhD or for someone entering a new area for the first time. If you have already completed your PD1 stage in UCD or will soon complete a PD1, or you are an external applicant whose total Postdoctoral experience, inclusive of the duration of the advertised post, would exceed 4 years, you should not apply and should refer to PD2 posts instead.
