We are seeking excellent academics to join our staff as a lecturer in the Department of Electronic Engineering (EE) and in the International Engineering College (IEC). Individuals selected for the position should possess a demonstrated track record in teaching, research, and publication that aligns with their career stage. They will be expected to make a strong contribution to the teaching programme of the IEC in Fuzhou, China.  While most teaching responsibilities will be based over a semester at the IEC, the candidates who are selected must also anticipate spending the remainder of the working year on Maynooth Campus. Teaching duties will encompass both undergraduate and postgraduate programs, along with active involvement in supervisory roles for master's and PhD students.

This position is open to applicants of all disciplines within the field of electronic engineering, but we would welcome applicants with expertise in the areas of signal processing, electronics, digital communications, information theory, robotics, control systems, hardware programming languages and digital systems, computing and programming etc. The successful candidates will play key roles in the development and enhancement of a European pedagogical approach to the delivery of the academic curriculum in the IEC.

The appointees will be expected to sustain and conduct research, engage in scholarship of quality and substance, and generate publications of an international standard.  The appointees will be expected to build a strong research profile, that supports Maynooth university’s research strategy including affiliating to its research institutes, where appropriate, and working with colleagues on national and international research projects. The candidates will be expected to seek and, where feasible, facilitate links between research activities in Maynooth University and Fuzhou University. 

Salary

Assistant Professor / Lecturer: €60,261 – €95,425 p.a. (7 points)

Assistant Lecturer: €38,659 – €67,002 p.a. (14 points)

Appointments will be made in accordance with public sector pay provisions.
