Applications are invited for a Lecturer/Assistant Professor (above the bar) role in the School of Mechanical & Materials Engineering. This is a permanent position. The School delivers a 4-year Bachelor of Engineering (BE) programme in Mechanical Engineering, and a full-time 2-year Master of Engineering (ME) programme with Majors including Mechanical Engineering, and Energy Systems Engineering.

The School of Mechanical & Materials Engineering is a dynamic, research-driven school with a clear focus on delivering excellent teaching programmes. The School is home to Ireland’s national manufacturing research centre, www.i-form.ie , an active participant in UCD’s Energy Institute, energyinstitute.ucd.ie/, and its faculty conduct research in all aspects of mechanical engineering. The successful appointee will be encouraged to develop their own research agenda in a relevant area.

The School seeks to recruit a suitably qualified candidate, with an expertise in energy systems engineering, with a strong background in thermodynamics and heat transfer.

As part of their application, applicants are requested to submit:

- a 2-page research statement, outlining their research plans;

- a 2-page teaching statement, outlining their planned approach to teaching and module development.

95 Lecturer/Asst Professor Above The Bar Salary: €55,951 - €88,601 per annum

Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines.
