About the role:

Reporting directly to the Provost, the Director will lead the Trinity Communications team.

As Director, you will bring your ambitious and exciting vision for the future of communications in Trinity College Dublin and challenge the existing ways in which we approach communications with new insights and fresh thinking.

There will also be the responsibility of ensuring internal communications within the university is highly systematic and effective while directing the university’s day-to-day media engagement strategy and crisis communication. With the creation and delivery of a Public Affairs strategy, the director will help Trinity to successfully navigate the complex political landscape of the third-level sector in Ireland and globally.

The Director will be an inspiring leader, capable of harnessing the resources of their own team and the wider university.

As Director of Trinity Communications, you will:

  • Be a member of Trinity’s Executive Officers Group and central to Trinity College Dublin’s achievement of its strategic objectives.
  • Have ownership of the development and delivery of an exciting and creative vision for communications.
  • Deliver a disciplined Public Affairs strategy with clear measures of success and impact.

 To be successful in this role you will need:

  • A third-level qualification and/or a minimum of 10 years professional experience at a senior level in communications/public affairs/reputation management.
  • A strong track record of transformative and visionary leadership and the proven ability to develop and deliver a successful communication strategy for a large, complex organisation.
  • A deep understanding of the third-level education sector in Ireland and globally, or the ability to demonstrate how existing knowledge can transfer to this sector.

Salary: This appointment will be made on the Senior Administrative 1 Salary Scale (€134,286 - €169,752) at a point in line with current Government pay policy.
