The School of Natural Sciences are seeking to appoint an Assistant Professor within the discipline of Zoology with an excellent research record in Animal Behaviour. As a fundamental aspect of Zoology teaching and research we aim to build on a track record of excellence in this field. Candidates with successful research achievements and potential in field and/or laboratory based animal behaviour are invited to apply. Areas of expertise may include studies of predator / prey systems, foraging behaviour, sexual selection, movement ecology, breeding biology, sensory perception, animal welfare, or any other branch of animal behavioural analysis.

Research in Animal Behaviour will synergise with current and future staff in the School of Natural Sciences, with potential for participating in wider networks addressing societal and economic challenges including (but not limited to): global change, invasive species management, conservation, wildlife management, and ecosystem service provision. Additionally, the field has wide possibilities for interdisciplinary links outside the School of Natural Sciences with, for example, psychology, genetics, computer science, physiology and interdisciplinary conservation projects.

Post Status Tenure Track - This position is Tenure Track position which is 5-years in the first instance, permanency is subject to satisfying the tenure requirements.

Salary: Appointment will be made on the Lecturer Salary Scale (109BN) commensurate with qualifications / experience and in line with Public Sector Pay Policy [€39,469 to €95,441 per annum] https://www.tcd.ie/hr/assets/pdf/monthly-academic.pdf
