The Department of Germanic Studies in the School of Languages, Literatures and Cultural Studies at Trinity College Dublin welcomes applications for a fixed-term post as Assistant Professor in German Literature and Culture for a fixed period (Aug 2024 to Jan 2026). The purpose of the post is to cover teaching arising out of the retirement of the current Chair of German until a new Chair of German is appointed and in place.

This post is full-time, fixed-term. Applicants must be available to start August 2024.

The assistant professor salary scale is €36,469 - €95,441. Appointments will be made in line with public pay, new entrant salary will be no higher than point 8 on scale (€55,384).

SLLCS is one of the largest of the twelve Schools in the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences and has over 140 members of staff in all, including full time academics, language assistants and lectors, part-time teachers, and professional staff.
