Description of Post
The Department of Sport, Exercise and Nutrition delivers a range of undergraduate honours degree programmes and postgraduate taught programmes as well as conducting research to PhD level in several fields. Following the success of the programmes in Sport and Exercise Science and Public Health Nutrition, the department launched the new BSc in Sports Coaching in September 2022.
The successful candidate will help the continued roll-out of the Sports Coaching programme while contributing to the development of new courses and research practice in the Department.
This is an exciting opportunity for a lecturer to join a vibrant, enthusiastic team within the School of Science and Computing and play a role in the on-going developments within the School. As well as the requisite technical skills, results from teamwork, demonstrable skills in project management and most importantly, empathy for learners, should all be evident in the track record of the candidate.
Essential Qualifications
- An Honours Degree (2.2 or higher) in Sports Coaching, Sport & Exercise Science, or a relevant Level 8 degree [as specified in the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ)], or equivalent.
- Three years relevant post-qualification experience.
