Description of Post

The appointment of an Assistant Lecturer in Athletic Therapy & Exercise Rehabilitation at Assistant Lecturer level is in the Department of Tourism & Sport within the Faculty of Business. The Department is recruiting for this role with a view to supporting existing and future programmes, professional accreditation and outreach engagement initiatives that may occur.

The Faculty also offers a large range of multi-discipline postgraduate programmes across the departments and is continually developing our research profile through our research centre DICE Labs (Design Innovation Creativity and Entrepreneurship). 

Appointment(s) may be on a permanent/fixed term/pro-rata/part-time basis as required at Assistant Lecturer level. A panel will be created for any vacancies that may arise in the future.

Please note: The postholder will be based at the ATU Donegal, Letterkenny Campus.

Essential Qualifications

Minimum

  • An Honours Degree (2.2 or higher) in a relevant Level 8 degree in Sports Rehabilitation (or equivalent) [as specified in the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ)], or equivalent.
  • ARTI accredited (Athletic Rehabilitation Therapy Ireland)
  • Three years relevant post graduate experience, i.e. 3 years relevant experience having gained the qualifications above

Desirable

  • A post-graduate or Master’s degree in a relevant area.
  • A demonstrable track record of work experience/research/teaching in either of the following areas:
    • Sports/Athletic Rehabilitation
    • Sports/Athletic Rehabilitation Technology
  • Relevant teaching and research experience.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills and an ability to work in teams.
