AP / Lecturer in Media Studies (Theory)

We are seeking an excellent academic to join our staff as an Assistant Professor / Lecturer in the Department of Media Studies who can contribute to the teaching of film and media studies and/or media theory and bring their research expertise to the Department. The Department of Media Studies offers modules including Media & Cultural Theory; Authorship in Film and Television; and History of Documentary.  They will be expected to make a strong contribution to the teaching programme of the Department and undertake teaching duties on the Department’s undergraduate and postgraduate programmes as well as the supervision of Masters’ and PhD students. The ideal candidate will have a research profile that complements the Department’s research focus in one or more of the following areas: film and media studies, creative industries, media and identity, creative work, and/or media histories.

Assistant Professor / Lecturer (2024):                                       €61,617 – €97,572 p.a. (7 points)

Assistant Lecturer  (2024):                                                         €39,784 – €68,510 p.a. (14 points)

Appointments will be made in accordance with public sector pay provisions.
