Post Summary

The Provost is the Chief Officer of Trinity College Dublin and requires a dynamic and effective office to support their many diverse and demanding responsibilities. At the core of university activity, this office also supports some of the Provost’s management team. The Provost Office is currently seeking to appoint an Administrative Officer (PA) to the Provost for the period of a maternity leave on a specific purpose contract basis.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of excellence in supporting a senior manager/executive. They will be passionate about education and delivering on Trinity’s Mission. They will possess excellent communication skills - both verbal and written. They will show initiative and be a real team player.

In addition to being the PA to the Provost, the successful appointee will act as the Chief correspondence secretary for the Provost Office. This will entail replying to communications as they come into the [email protected] email account and working with the Executive Officer and Director to ensure effective and efficient diary management and communication channels at all times. The role reports to the Director of the Provost’s Office.

This is a varied and exciting role in a fast-paced environment demanding confidentiality, initiative, attention to detail, and excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.

Post status: Specific Purpose Contract

The specific purpose of this appointment is to cover an Administrative 2 vacancy on a temporary basis pending the return of the postholder from Maternity Leave. Employment is not offered on an indefinite duration basis as the original postholder is expected to return. If the postholder does not return to work the post will be filled through open competition.

Hours of Post: 35 hours per week

Salary: This appointment will be made on the Administrative 2 Salary Scale (€54,907- €64,515 per annum) at a point in line with current Government pay policy. monthly/weekly payscales. (tcd.ie)
