Post Summary:

The Trinity College Dublin 2020-25 Strategic Plan commits to “…practice next-generation teaching and learning”, and this commitment is supported by government funded initiatives such as the promotion of the ‘innovative’ teaching and learning practices in the new Human Capital Initiative (HCI) and the Strategic Alignment of Teaching and Learning Enhancement (SALTE) fund, sponsored by the Higher Education Authority.

Trinity Teaching and Learning (TT&L), headed by the Academic Secretary, comprises a number of units that support the quality assurance and enhancement of curriculum through teaching, learning and assessment support, course proposals’ development and approval, student and course evaluation, technology enhanced learning, employability, and equality of access. As part of TT&L, the Centre for Academic Practice enhances teaching, learning, research and teaching and learning leadership by fostering a university-wide culture of teaching excellence grounded in scholarship, critical enquiry and collaboration. It leads a range of academic practice activities and research objectives, working closely with College Academic Officers to align academic practice to institutional priorities, delivering college-wide initiatives and embedding the broader role of teaching & learning in the institutional change agenda.

Reporting to the Head of Academic Practice, the position of Academic Developer will provide leadership and expertise in the area of higher education teaching, learning and assessment in order to support Trinity’s key education objectives and respond to the national initiatives in teaching and learning.

Post status: Specific Purpose Contract

Hours of Post: 35 hours per week


Salary:

This appointment will be made on the Administrative 1 (Points 1-3), Salary Scale (€65,367 - € 84,560 per annum) at a point in line with current Government pay policy.
