Updated: about 1 month ago

The Leibniz-Institut für Analytische Wissenschaften - ISAS - e. V. develops efficient analytical methods for health research. Thus, it contributes to the improvement of the prevention, early diagnosis, and therapy of diseases like cardiovascular diseases, autoimmune diseases or cancer. Overall, the institute strives to advance precision medicine by combining knowledge from different fields such as biology, chemistry, pharmacology, physics, and computer science. ISAS is a member of the Leibniz Association and is publicly funded by the Federal Republic of Germany and its federal states.

At our location in Dortmund we invite applications for a

Scientist / Postdoc (m/f/d): Bioimaging

The research project to be filled addresses the role of macrophages and pericytes in myocardial infarction and reperfusion injury. Using various imaging techniques such as light-sheet fluorescence microscopy, confocal laser scanning microscopy, MALDI MSI and flow cytometric analyses, the regulatory mechanisms of these cell types with regard to their interaction with endothelial cells will be elucidated. Experience with these methods as well as with cell culture, cell isolation strategies, Western blot and PCR analyses is desirable. As part of this project and your employment at ISAS, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Planning and independent execution of experiments
  • Coordination of sample transfers with cooperation partners
  • Preparation of human and murine samples for imaging, flow cytometry and analytical methods
