Your mission

The overall purpose of this job is to devise and execute a broad range of coordination activities within Helmholtz AI. As part of our central management unit, you will contribute to furthering our mission by managing our annual project call, supporting board meetings and running working groups within our community. You’ll be an integral part of our team in Munich and the national network. You will be sharing our enthusiasm for promoting ML and nurturing our friendly, cooperative environment where everyone’s contribution is valued.

We expect the successful candidate to develop this position and tailor the comprehensive activities provided as an integral part of our interdisciplinary and collaborative research environment.


You will be
  • owning the annual Helmholtz AI project call and all associated activities, including networking with current grantees, further developing the call and ensuring a sustainable legacy of all projects;
  • providing strategic input and reliable operational structure for the governance of Helmholtz AI, e.g. for regular meetings of our boards and interest groups;
  • cultivating and stewarding interactions with various stakeholders;
  • supporting the running of the Helmholtz AI team, e.g. in recruiting and organization of events;
  • working in an agile environment that provides freedom to shape further projects and initiatives.

You have
  • a MSc-level university degree;
  • demonstrable experience in scientific project management;
  • attention to detail and the ability to diligently manage a broad range of different responsibilities in your own time;
  • excellent verbal and written fluency in English;
  • ability to work independently within an international team and environment.

Pluses
  • a background in life, data or natural sciences and a PhD;
  • extra training in project management or agile techniques;
  • working knowledge and experience in using CMS (preferably TYPO3) and work management software (preferably Monday.com);
  • excellent written and verbal fluency in German.
