Offer Description
As part of a collaborative project funded by the ANR, the postdoctoral researcher will investigate the role of the talin protein in the organisation, maturation and function of hippocampal synapses. He or she will combine imaging techniques, the use of nanosondes and molecular biology approaches to determine how talin contributes to the regulation of synaptic transmission. The project will also aim to characterise the nanometric organisation of talin, as well as the molecular mechanisms through which it influences the structure and plasticity of neural circuits.
The candidate will carry out imaging experiments (confocal microscopy and transmission electron microscopy, TEM) and take part in in vivo studies in mice. They will contribute to sample preparation, the development of nanoprobes for the visualisation of synaptic proteins, data analysis and the dissemination of findings in the form of scientific publications and presentations.
Established on 1 January 2011, the Interdisciplinary Institute of Neurosciences (IINS) is a joint research unit affiliated with the CNRS and the University of Bordeaux. With a staff of 170 people spread across 13 teams, the IINS brings together multidisciplinary expertise to study the molecular and cellular mechanisms involved in brain activity. The Institute develops innovative methods in imaging, chemistry, physiology and computing. As part of Bordeaux Neurocampus, the IINS is one of the key players in the neuroscience community in Aquitaine.
