Two postdoctoral researchers for Taipale lab

The Laboratory of Prof. Jussi Taipale as part of the Applied Tumour Genetic Program in the Faculty of Medicine at University of Helsinki invites applications for

two POSTDOCTORAL researchers.

The research group is part of the Academy of Finland's Centre of Excellence in Tumour Genetics Research and focuses on the study of transcriptional control of cell growth using functional genomics and systems biology. Currently, the lines of research include high-throughput determination of binding sites and binding specificities of human transcription factors that control cell growth during steady state and in cancer.

Applicants with a doctoral degree and a strong background in molecular biology and knowledge/interest in bioinformatics who wish to work in an inter-disciplinary, highly dynamic and international environment are particularly encouraged to apply. Applicants are expected to work independently and have good command of English.

The default assumption is that the degree requirement must be met by the beginning of the employment and the chosen applicants are expected to reside in Finland while employed by the University of Helsinki.

What we offer

The appointment will be initially for two years with the possibility to be extended further. A trial period of 6 months will be applied.

The monthly gross salary will be approx. 3600-4000 €/month (OV5 scale + performance percentage) depending on the appointee’s qualifications and experience.
