Staff Scientist (AC-TAP) in Section of Environmental Health at Department of Public Health

We are looking for a highly motivated and independent staff scientistto support our efforts in Environmental Epidemiology starting 1 March 2024 or as soon as possible hereafter.

Our research
The project is to analyze the health impact assessment of air pollution in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) (Principal Investigator: Youn-Hee Lim, University of Copenhagen). The environmental epidemiology group are interdisciplinary and international team with  international collaborators.

Your job
You will join a multi-disciplinary research team working on 10 hours a week.

Your tasks will assist researchers’ activities including searching literatures.

You will be expected to contribute to and support the ongoing research projects in the group on an ad hoc basis when needed; disseminate your expertise to new lab members and support the lab management.

Profile
We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic staff scientist with the following competencies and experience:

Essential experience and skills

  • You have a BS in environmental science, public health, or related
  • You have documented experience in health impact assessment related research at least one year
  • You have an active interest in environmental health
  • You have proven an ability to envision, plan and execute a research project 
  • Good English skills, written and spoken

Desirable experience and skills

  • Experience and knowledge in health impact assessment
  • Epidemiology
  • Statistical analysis in R

Place of employment
The place of employment is at Department of Public Health (Øster Farimagsgade 5, København) University of Copenhagen. We offer creative and stimulating working conditions in dynamic and international research environment.

Terms of employment

The average weekly working hours are 10 hours per week.

The position is a fixed-term position limited to a period of 6 months.

Employment will be in accordance with the provisions of the collective agreement between the Danish Ministry of Taxation and AC (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations). The monthly salary will be based on the number of years of work experience (seniority) with the possibility to negotiate a salary supplement based on prior experiences and qualifications. The employer will pay an additional 17.1 % to your pension fund.
