Are you interested in developing the world of Quantum Technologies, the future of computing, communications, and high precision imaging?

The Center for Hybrid Intelligence at the Department of Management at Aarhus University, School of Business and Social Sciences, invites candidates to apply for a position as research assistant. The position is full-time employment of 12 months, and the successful candidate is expected to take up the appointment from May 1st, 2024 or subject to mutual agreement.

The research assistant will work in the area of Quantum technologies, mapping the landscape of present and future developments in the field, and the needs of the growing industry. Furthermore, the research assistant will collaborate closely with Center Director Jacob Sherson and the core development and research teams of the Center. Our team offers a strong research group, known for its collaborative, supportive, and professional environment.

The successful candidate will be involved in a variety of Quantum Technology research and development projects. One example is the project "QUCATS.", the coordination project of Europe’s largest Quantum Iniative, the Quantum Flagship. Within QUCATS, the candidate will be responsible for conducting an industry needs analysis and developing a European instrument for creating synergy between education programs and companies hiring needs. In addition, the candidate will work with our team in Hybrid Intelligence and become upskilled in generative AI and prompt engineering, which is used widely in the center. The position will include qualitative and quantitative data collection, analysis, and the opportunity to contribute to groundbreaking research in Quantum Technologies. This role requires a balance of technical expertise in Quantum Technology, project management, and an interest in understanding the diversity of the field.


Qualification requirements

The qualification requirement for the position of research assistant includes at least a Master's degree in a relevant field such as Quantum Physics, Computer Science, Natural Sciences, or related disciplines. The candidate should possess robust qualitative and quantitative skills, with a keen interest or background in Quantum Technology applications in organizational contexts. Experience in AI-driven data collection and analysis is highly desirable.

The ideal applicant will be highly motivated, demonstrating the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a structured, systematic manner. Skills in interdisciplinary teamwork are crucial, given the diverse nature of the projects.
Proficiency in both spoken and written English is essential, as the research and development projects involve international collaborations and diverse data sources.



Who we are

The Center for Hybrid Intelligence is an interdisciplinary team of researchers and practitioners from physics, computer science, human-computer interaction, management, economics, psychology, cognitive science, and creativity studies exploring digital interfaces that facilitate collaboration between humans and AI algorithms. We are located at the Department of Management at Aarhus BSS (Aarhus University).

The Department of Management is one of the six departments at Aarhus BSS- one of the five faculties at Aarhus University. Aarhus BSS unites the business and social science-related research fields and brings them closer together to reflect the close relationship between society and the business community. The department’s research and teaching environment is highly international and culturally diverse with a mix of Danish and international academic staff members and PhD students.
