Research areas will be within the domain of risk, resilience and sustainability of complex systems. This involves utilization of advanced techniques for probabilistic modeling and analysis of systems, and their further development such as to enhance their efficiency, ensure consistency in modeling relative to decision contexts and their utilization for understanding system characteristics such as risk, vulnerability, robustness, resilience and sustainability. To this end also modern techniques of big data analysis and Artificial Intelligence is utilized. Application areas are manifold but a significant part of the focus is directed towards integrity management of renewable offshore wind turbine structures and end of life management of offshore oil and gas production facilities.

Qualification requirements:
The required level of qualifications is at master level.

Appointment to Research Assistant may be for a period of up to three years. Reappointment may be made, but a Research Assistant can only be appointed to Research Assistant for a period of maximum three years. Employment is in accordance with the Ministerial Order on the Appointment of Academic Staff at Universities(the Appointment Order) and the Ministry of Finance's current Job Structure for Academic Staff at Universities. Employment and salary are in accordance with the collective agreement for state-employed academics.
