At Center for Corporate Governance (CCG), you will be working in an exciting and international workplace, where multidisciplinary skills and professionalism are highly regarded. You will be working on a new, pan-Nordic research database on the topic of Nordic Corporate Governance.

You will be the main technical driver behind this new venture. It will mainly require organizing, assembling, and maintaining the database as well as assisting users and stakeholders. Quality check of data will be a part of the role. Solid technical and interpersonal skills are essential in this role.

The Center for Corporate Governance is a leading research center on the topics of board leadership, long term ownership, financial performance, and other essential areas of corporate governance, contributing with academic research and education as well as local and regional policy making.

Data manager responsibilities

  • Regular maintenance and administration of the database
  • Prepare annual/quarterly status reports for distribution
  • Continuous data collection, updates
  • Handling of access rights and other legal aspects
  • Setup and management of administrative objectives
  • Working with external suppliers and other universities
  • Cleaning and converting data for standardization
  • Inserting and merging data from various sources
  • General communications on the database to academia and corporate society
  • Developing a browser oriented front-end for MySQL databases

Qualifications

The position is for a research data manager. There is a minimum requirement of a Bachelor´s degree in Data science, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields. Or as an alternative you are a researcher in area of quantitative research with a strong expertise in programming and database management.

You demonstrate excellent understanding of relational databases data administration and database management functions (collection, analysis, distribution etc.). Previous experience with commercial databases (Orbis, Bloomberg, Morningstar, Eikon) is essential. Programming is a fundamental skill required, included, but not limited to understanding of SQL structure and queries coupled with 2-3 years' experience with either Python or R. Knowledge of programming language for web development is a plus

An analytical mindset with problem-solving and good interpersonal skills is expected.

Salary & Employment

Salary and employment take place in accordance with the circular regarding employees at universities, etc. under the Ministry of Education. The position is full-time position. The workplace is located at the Center for Corporate Governance´s office at Solbjerg Plads 3, 2000 Frederiksberg.

The expected duration of the position is 12 months, with potential for renewing the contract.
