RE-ADVERTISEMENT: Part time project manager for EU projects (AC-TAP) to be employed for Department of Food Science, Aarhus University
At the Department of Food Science, a part time position at 20 hours per week, is available for a project manager. This position is available for appointment 15 June 2024 or soon thereafter.
As project Manager, you will support in grant applications, participate in consortium meeting, organize events and workshop, online or in person, prepare agenda, create content for workshops, take notes and minutes, and help documenting project deliverables. You will be responsible in coordinating tasks related to project administrative. You will identify needed resources, and co-work with other colleague based on the requests from scientific staff and partners, prepare reports, and gather any necessary information to deliver on the tasks assigned.
The candidate
The candidate is expected to:
- Represent the WP leaders and Task leaders in meetings
- Prepare and organized meetings, events, create agenda and reports
- Gather the necessary information to deliver on the tasks
- Communicate, disseminate activities on behalf of the research and teaching staff.
- Instruct staff and students on the tasks needed to deliver on the project.
- Manage the timelines, ensure the delivery of milestones and project KPIs.
Qualifications
We are looking for a service minded candidate with a food science background, with entrepreneurial mindset and a good understanding of current European Erasmus+ projects environments, especially in relation to upskilling and reskilling professionals. We expect a high sense of structure, ability to keep an overview, ability to provide clear instructions, good communication and presentation skills, and strong written and verbal English language skills. Added emphasis is placed on a demonstrated ability to work successfully in a multidisciplinary and international environment.
We offer a professional and dynamic environment, where we largely communicate in English. The activities requested will be delivered in English, and in large consortia with many different partners.
The Department of Food Science
The Department of Food Science is part of the Faculty of Science and Technology, Aarhus University and includes research within the areas Biofunctional Food, Systems Biology, Food Chemistry and Physics, Food Processing, Food Metabolomics, Sensory Science and Plant Production. The Department currently employs 60 full time scientific staff, approx. 50 PhD students and Postdocs, plus approx. 30 visiting students and staff who together contribute to an international research environment where English is the preferred language in the laboratory, at meetings and at seminars.
The Department works in teams and therefore self-leadership, clear and open communication, success in mentoring, supervising and teaching are important qualities needed to be successful in the Department. In addition, the Department has a strong culture that is based on openness, equality, consultation, inclusion and contributing to the Department strategy and working environment are viewed as important.
