Project manager to support the Head of Studies - DTU Bioengineering

DTU Bioengineering is looking for a project manager to support the Head of Studies of the master programme ‘Life Science Engineering and Informatics’, and to take lead on the administration of our continuing education programme.

The job
As the project manager for the Head of Studies, you will be instrumental in ensuring a tight collaboration between DTU Bioengineering and the Sino-Danish Center (SDC), and crucial as the administrative contact person for our Chinese collaborators.

As the project manager of the continuing education programme, you will be instrumental in ensuring collaboration between DTU Bioengineering, DTU Biosustain and DTU Chemical Engineering, as well as international collaborators You will be expected to support the course responsibles and to ensure marketing of the courses in an international setting.

Biotech Lifelong Learning (50%)

  • Coordinate all activities involving or related to Continuing Education
  • Ensure all project deliverables are on time and of appropriate quality
  • Facilitate collaboration on courses developed between internal departments at DTU and externally at NC State University
  • Budget and plan continuing education courses and activities, and find and apply for additional relevant funding.
  • Develop and deliver international marketing campaigns via social media, journals, magazines, networks, etc. 
  • Coordinate with course coordinators to ensure all courses materials and logistics are ready by course delivery date.
  • Coordinate with DTU Learn for Life on course marketing campaigns and administrative tasks.
  • Assist with the planning of yearly symposia, when hosted at DTU. 

SDC Life Science Engineering and Informatics (50%)

  • Develop new administrative processes to ensure the program runs smoothly. 
  • Reviewing and restructuring academic program, alongside Head of Study and DTU Bioengineering Head of Teaching
  • Plans and delivers all program related events, including the bi-annual teachers meeting, MSc Opening Speech symposium, PhD symposium, jointly hosted Life Science Day, student orientation, etc. 
  • Recruiting new Danish and international students to the program
  • Coordinating all Master thesis defenses in China and Denmark
  • Attend all SDC administrative meetings and recruitment events. 
  • Advising master students on application, visas, program overview, course requirements and ad-hoc program matters
  • Help students with English-related matters (e.g., proofreading and advising on grammar/non-scientific written matters), when required. 

Our expectations of you
We expect that you come with experience from a similar role, where you have independently and successfully led large complex projects with a range of stakeholders.

  • You have a Master’s degree and +5 years of working in international higher education administration, including experience in working in a study abroad office.
  • You have experience in coordinating and delivering Continuing Education courses.
  • You have experience in leading international marketing and international student recruitment campaigns.
  • You have experience with working in Oracle, Moodle, Trello and other administrative systems.
  • You have direct experience of working with Chinese universities and are familiar with Chinese culture and bureaucratic framework.

Your personal profile
You are extremely well organized and skilled in creating effective and systematic workflows. You are proactive in problem solving and good at meeting deadlines. You are comfortable juggling multiple tasks and working in many different administrative IT systems (primarily Oracle), and you are a skilled communicator in both written and spoken Danish and English.

Finally, we expect you to have a positive attitude and to contribute to a positive working environment creating good relations both within the department administration, and with respect to our scientists and external collaborators.

You will be a part of DTU Bioengineering’s administration consisting of approx. 25 administrative colleagues. You will be referring to the Head of Teaching, and will have a close collaboration with the Head of Studies for the master programme “Life Science Engineering and Informatics”, as well as with your colleagues in the administration.

Salary and appointment terms
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union.

The position is a full-time position of 1 ½ years starting 1st of July 2023 or hereafter by mutual agreement.
