Professor in Medicinal Chemistry

The Department of Physics, Chemistry and Pharmacy at the University of Southern Denmark invites applicants for a position as full professor in medicinal chemistry.

The ambition of the department is to carry out world-class research in medicinal chemistry. The applicant should expand and complement our current activities at the interface of chemistry, biology, pharmacy and medicine. Thus, we are seeking to appoint a full professor who is internationally recognized and has an independent research programme in medicinal chemistry. We expect that the applicant is an inspiring mentor for undergraduate students, doctoral students, and postdoctoral fellows.

The successful applicant will contribute to our educational programmes in chemistry and medicinal chemistry. To strengthen medicinal chemistry at the University, we anticipate that the appli cant will play an active and leading role in collaborative projects within the department and across the faculty.

The ideal candidate has a proven ability to publish at an internationally high level, as well as the ability to attract significant research funding. In addition, the ideal candidate has documented experience in leading international research projects and is internationally recognized within medicinal chemistry.

Requirements and qualifications

• PhD degree in chemistry;
• teaching experience at all levels within medicinal chemistry and related areas;
• strong experience in obtaining external funding;
• service to the research community;
• experience in leading successful teams of researchers.
