Postdoc in Theory and Simulations of Graphene-Oxide Membrane Interfaces – DTU Physics
Kgs. Lyngby, Denmark
Job Description

The aim of this theory project is to study and understand how we can control the local properties (electronic, reactivity) of the interface between graphene and perovskite metal oxide membranes based on first principles density functional (DFT) calculations. The theory project should interact and support ongoing experimental efforts. The project is funded by the NOVO foundation with the long-term aim to create a new materials platform for highly sensitive and selective biosensors.
Responsibilities and qualifications
You should perform DFT calculations of selected interface structures to obtain their atomic and electronic structure.
You have a strong background in condensed matter physics, experienced user of Density Functional Theory (DFT) for electronic structure calculations, and preferably also experience with Nano-scale transport calculations based on non-equilibrium Greens functions (NEGF). You should also have well developed programming skills (python), and a good command of spoken and written English.
We prioritize candidates with a track record proving successful collaborations with experimentalists since this is central to the project.
As a formal qualification, you must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent).
