At the Faculty of Engineering and Science, AAU Energy, a position as Postdoc in Radio Frequency Generators is open for appointment from 1 July 2023 or soon thereafter. The position is available for a period of 3 years.


Job description

The mission is to be world leading in both research and research-based education of the energy engineers of the  future.  AAU  Energy  has  approx.  300  employees  of  many  nationalities,  of  which  25  are  administrative staff. In addition, AAU Energy constantly has approx. 50-70 guest researchers from around the world.

Research  and  teaching  are  in  the  absolute  world  elite  in  the  field  of energy,  and  we  have  extensive  and leading  workshop  and  laboratory facilities,  where  research  and  innovation  are  carried  out  in  direct collaboration with industry to a great extent.

The position is offered in relation to the research program "POWER ELECTRONICS PACKAGING, MATERIALS AND  EMERGING  APPLICATIONS" and  the  Postdoc  will  be  positioned  to  the  section  for  Power  Electronics System Integration and Materials “PE-SIM”.

Research areas will be within power electronics for industrial heating.

The candidate must have a strong power electronics background. He/she shall have acquired a PhD from a recognized university. The candidate should have significant experience with hardware development and digital design framework. Important focus on electrical analysis and finite element tools like ANSYS, COMSOL. It is important that the candidate can document research results and practical experience building up series/parallel connected multicell resonant converter operating above 2 MHz and understand driving requirements of WBG devices. Experience with power module manufacturing is appreciated.

Qualification requirements: 

Appointment as Postdoc presupposes scientific qualifications at PhD–level or similar scientific qualifications. The research potential of each applicant will be emphasized in the overall assessment. Appointment as a Postdoc cannot exceed a period of four years in total at Aalborg University.
