The Department of biomedicine at Faculty of Health at Aarhus University invites applications for a position as Postdoc in the field of developmental neuroscience as per 1 January 2027 or as soon as possible thereafter. The position is a fixed-term full-time position for 24 months.

About the research project
The research project will investigate the role of neuropeptide signals on developmental limbic circuit maturation using mouse models. The research project will take approaches combining mouse developmental genetics, cell-type-specific viral tracing, ex vivo electrophysiology, opto/chemogenetics, in vivo imaging, single-nucleus RNA sequencing (snRNA-seq), and behavioural profiling.
Your job responsibilities
As Postdoc in developmental neuroscience, your position is primarily research-based but may also involve teaching assignments. You will contribute to the development of the department through research of high international quality. In your daily work, you will work closely with colleagues on your project, where you will receive supervision and guidance.
Your main tasks will consist of:
- Independent research of high international quality, including publication.
- Conducting stereotaxic surgery with neonatal mice
- Conducting whole-cell patch clamp recordings
- In vivo imaging using calcium and neuropeptide sensor
- Conducting behavioural tests
- Conducting histology (inc. IHC and RNAscope)
- Participation in laboratory meeting and journal club, department retreats, and PROMEMO/DANDRITE events
- Contributing to teaching activities (Neuroscience course, summer school, laboratory based supervision)
- Writing grant applications
You will report to the Associate Professor Asami Tanimura.
Your competences
You have academic qualifications at PhD level, for example within neuroscience.
As a person, you have good interpersonal skills, are inclusive and team-oriented and able to contribute to a good work environment. We expect you to be fluent in oral and written English.
