Job Description

Our current food production system is relying on animal and plant-derived proteins. Arguably, food proteins could be produced more sustainably in efficient microbial factories on sustainable substrates. Filamentous fungi are known to be able to secrete large amounts of proteins but their ability to do so for recombinant proteins remains limited. We are working towards alleviating this bottleneck. Join us in our endeavor to develop a sophisticated fungal protein production platform to produce the food proteins for tomorrow. You will be working in a highly motivated and dedicated team of researchers in an inspiring and interdisciplinary environment and research network in order to tackle this challenge.

Responsibilities and qualifications
You will be responsible to independently plan, execute and interpret scientific experiments in close collaboration and communication within the research group but also collaborators in Denmark and abroad. It is expected that you will keep yourself updated on the scientific literature and entrepreneurial as well as IP landscape. You will further have the opportunity to disseminate your knowledge through supervision of students and presentations at scientific conferences and workshops.

In addition, you bring the following qualifications:

  • Experience in genetic engineering of filamentous fungi
  • Enthusiasm, motivation and dedication to research
  • Strong communication skills when writing up and presenting scientific results
  • Ability to work independently, to conceptualize research findings and to build and maintain scientific collaborations

As a formal qualification, you must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent).
