The position is within the context of a project making advances in utilizing very large AIS datasets to quantify marine traffic. The project is tasked with topics that include ensuring the validity of AIS data and the conversion of AIS data to trajectories for further analyses. The open position is targeted towards ensuring the validity of the AIS data at multiple level. For this task, we envision developing machine-learning techniques for use on large AIS trajectory datasets.

Qualification requirements:
Appointment as Postdoc presupposes scientific qualifications at PhD–level or similar scientific qualifications. The research potential of each applicant will be emphasized in the overall assessment. Appointment as a Postdoc cannot exceed a period of four years in total at Aalborg University.
