A postdoc position is available in the Centre for Catalysis and Sustainable Chemistry at DTU Chemistry within a project applying heterogeneous catalysis for making aviation biofuel from CO2 . The project is part of a collaboration between DTU Chemistry, DTU Biosustain (Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Biosustainability) and international partner universities.
You will join an international environment applying an application-oriented research strategy to develop novel chemistry and processes with the potential to secure the future for the next generations in terms of energy, resources and the environment.
Responsibilities and qualifications
The major responsibility of the postdoc is to design and carry out experimental studies with catalysts in the conversion of oxygenates to hydrocarbon fuels in continuous, gas-phase. The work will comprise both synthesis, characterization and catalyst testing. The postdoc is supposed to interact closely with other colleagues working in the aviation fuel project and will also have the possibility to work with other group members on other studies for catalytic conversion of renewables.
Candidates should have a PhD degree or equivalent in disciplines like chemistry, catalysis, or chemical engineering. The candidate should have experience with catalyst synthesis and fixed-bed, gas-phase experiments. Experience with materials characterization as well as instrumental analytical methods and fixed-bed reactor design is an advantage.
Assessment
In the assessment of the candidates consideration will be given to
- scientific production and research potential at international level
- innovative skills and the ability to generate new ideas
- the ability to communicate at all levels such as the provision of scientific advice to public sector authorities
- an all-round experience basis, preferably including international experience
- the ability to contribute to development of internal and external cooperation
