Job Description
We are looking for an passionate software and hardware engineer to play a key role in the development of a versatile, compact, and automated testing station for low-temperature (below 200 °C) P2X materials. This test station can be used for standard performance tests and advanced in-situ tests with X-ray diffraction, Raman, and Infrared. A compact and automated P2X testing platform offers numerous benefits such as improved efficiency, accuracy, productivity, cost savings, safety, and enhanced data analysis capabilities. These advantages will accelerate materials research and development, optimize processes, and promote the adoption of P2X technologies across industries.

At DTU Energy, we have been carrying out R&D in sustainable energy conversion technologies for many decades, including PEM fuel cells and electrolyzers, and we are among the world’s leaders in research and development in this area. We have excellent facilities and competencies to carry out research from fundamental studies of electrochemical materials to the fabrication of lab-scale components and devices.

Responsibilities

  • Lead responsibility for the maintenance and further development of our control software
  • Work with our testing team to further develop a suitable case and optimize the hardware combination 
  • Work with our testing team on specifying and developing the next generation of our products.

Qualifications
You should preferably have experience in similar on software interface with hardware. You have a strong general engineering mindset and are experienced in planning and executing projects and tasks independently. You are methodical and excel in problem-solving. Your background could be within control software, mechatronics or alternatively you have acquired equivalent qualifications through relevant work experience

We are especially looking for and will value the following expertise:

  • Experience in working with control software and interfacing with hardware.
  • Previous experience with projects combining software, mechanics and electronics is a strong advantage but not a requirement.
  • Ability to execute independently on new projects.
  • Experience in documenting and tracking changes. 
  • Fluency in English is a requirement.

Salary and appointment terms 
Salary and employment terms in accordance with the OAO-S Joint Agreement and the organization agreement for IT employees (Prosa) in the service of the state. The period of employment is 9 months starting from April 1 2024, with 15 working hours per week.
