The Department of Economics conducts research at the highest international level as well as research-based teaching, and contributes to qualify both the international and Danish debate on economic policy.
You will become head of the department’s approx. 95 staff, including both researchers and administrative personnel. The Department has approx. 2,000 students who are either enrolled in the Department’s bachelor or master’s degree programmes or employed as PhD students.
You have a desire and ability to head the Department and ensure that our graduates are among the best economists worldwide just as ensuring that the research conducted at the Department continues to be at the highest international level. You are motivated by a desire to provide staff and students with a stimulating working and study environment via supportive, positive personnel management. You are able to cooperate with the other heads of department and the Dean on contributing constructively and strategically to strengthening and further developing the Faculty of Social Sciences.
You are an internationally renowned researcher within one of the disciplines covered by the Department, and you have an eye for developing the field of economics as well as insight into the university sector. Among other things, we expect you to be capable of and interested in managing our self-managing staff, demonstrating appreciative, stimulating and inclusive leadership.
